CISF recovered “Pseudoe-phedrine Drug” at IGI Airport worth Rs. 12.5 lakhs

On 15.04.2015, at about 0240 hrs, based on profiling CISF surveillance & intelligence staff found the activities of a lady passenger suspicious. Later, she was identified as Ms. Moyo Sandra, (Zimbabwe - National, Passport No. EN-290460), aged about 24 yrs. She came on tourist visa to India. She was supposed to travel from IGI Airport, New Delhi to Johannesburg via Abu Dhabi, flight No. EY-211 (STD - 0450 hrs). She was subjected to thorough checking/screening of her belongings and her luggage was passed through X-ray Baggage Inspection System (X-BIS) at departure gate No. 05 of Terminal -3 at IGI Airport. During screening of her luggage, Ms. Mom Das, Sub-Inspector of CISF detected and recovered 02 Packets of Narcotic Substance weighing about 12.5 kg from her luggage. Matter was immediately informed to Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials.

On arrival of NCB officials, the seized narcotic substance was confirmed as “Pseudo-ephedrine Drug”.

The value of the “Pseudo-ephedrine Drug” in International market is estimated approximately Rs. 12.5 lakhs. The apprehended lady passenger alongwith the recovered drug was handed over to the NCB officials for further legal action.
