Award to CISF for ‘Astitva Samman-2017’ for empowering the women

New Delhi, 24.03.2017: CISF has a very large public interface and women personnel of CISF play a crucial, effective and important role in providing security to these installations.  CISF has the largest representation of women personnel amongst CAPFs and the present strength of women in the force is 5.32% of total strength.

 

With regard to women empowerment other than basic CISF training, special training programme and courses like gender sensitization, yoga, soft skill, stress management, personality development, leadership and management, health and nutrition, additional skill development like computer courses etc are conducted at training institutions and at unit level for women personnel. The women personnel are also detailed for courses like negotiation skills, management leadership course, nurturing creativity & excellence, human rights, gender sensitization, gender issues conducted by BPR&D, NPA & ISTM.

 

PHD family welfare foundation is working towards the holistic and integrated development of both women & children and has awarded CISF with Astitva Samman for promoting welfare schemes for women and empowering them. The honour recognizes an organization, corporation or an NGO which has made an outstanding contribution with positive results in empowering women in creating a more gender sensitive workplace. PHD Chamber annually awards for excellence and was instituted in 1997 to recognize Indian business, entrepreneurs, and individuals for their outstanding achievements/contributions in select areas and to promote corporate and individual initiatives in economic, social and educational areas. Each award is focused on a different theme and consists of a trophy and citation. The process of selection started with inviting nominations which were compiled by the secretariat and validated by an independent agency i.e. Grand Thorton India LLP. The applications were then presented to the committee members who recommended top applications as guidelines to assit the Jury. The Jury then made the final selection.

 

Smt A Y Priya, Dy Inspector General, FHQrs received the trophy on behalf of CISF for “Astitva Samman” for empowering the women from Hon’ble Justice Gita Mittal, Judge, Delhi High Court on 24th March, 2017 at PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi.
