MISSILE THREAT FROM PAKISTAN

Another important capability which needs to be mentioned in the context of ballistic missiles of the adversary, is the capability to launch Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicles (MIRVs) by a ballistic missile that has the capability to fly outside the earth’s atmosphere (exo-atmospheric) for most of its flight and launch MIRVs upon re-entry into earth’s atmosphere. While India is still some distance away from MIRV capability, Pakistan seems to be closer to the same.

The real winner of the Pakistan General Elections 2018 is the Pakistan Military High Command. The general opinion was summed up by the Economist, “This time the soldiers have in their sights the ideal outcome, a pliable leader and a minority government that will not be too powerful”. Reports suggest that the electoral process was manipulated by the establishment to bring about the desired results.

It is an open secret that Pakistan’s foreign, security and nuclear policy and key sectors of its domestic affairs are controlled by the Pakistan deep state comprising of its army and ISI. Imran Khan’s election will give greater political and strategic space to its army to carry out its vicious activities against India and Afghanistan and to strengthen relations with China, Iran, Russia and Central Asian nations.

Despite condemning terrorism at the 9th BRICS Summit in Xiamen, China continues to provide tacit Support to Pakistan’s terrorism because Pakistan helps China put a lid on its actions against Uyghurs, besides, China-Pakistan aims vis-a-vis India coalesce; both want India strategically confined to South Asia and grab as much Indian Territory as possible. Pakistan is strategically too important for China and whether the Pakistan Prime Minister is Imran or anyone else, it has set into motion the process of swallowing Pakistan in conjunction a willing Pakistani military.
