The roots of terrorism in India can be traced back to the partition of 1947, which left several unresolved territorial disputes between India and Pakistan, most notably over the region of Kashmir. The persistent threat from Pakistan-based terrorist groups has compelled India to take a leading role in South Asia in the global fight against terrorism.
The writer is currently the Research Associate in DSA magazine. He is a Gallantry Awardee recognised by the Indian Army, holds a Master's degree in Disaster Studies from JNU, New Delhi.
